For contributors
⭐ Contribution – Manage translation and deletion of items on MS page translation (preview)
We proudly announce that in the context of Microsoft Page Translation, it is now possible to translate items (applications, alerts, ...) thanks to Powell's contribution.
This works in the same way as the article page: once your item is created, a second step appears where you can translate the created element for each available language you wish and edit and delete it for each of them.
Note that translation is unavailable for items stored in a calendar list or list not supporting folder creation.
NB: As the feature is in preview for now, it can only be enabled at the tenant level by a Powell administrator not to impact your current site (you can ask for it by creating a support ticket).
For everyone
⭐ Front – Translated taxonomy value
In a page translation context, when a widget displays taxonomy fields, these will now be displayed as translated (If a translation exists in the term store, more information here).
Note that the taxonomy language will depend on the language of the Sharepoint user.
(Taxonomy term HR for an English user)
(Taxonomy term HR translated to Ressources Humaines for French user)
⭐ Subscription – New notification scenario (preview)
We are creating a new scenario for Subscriptions and notifications inside a web context.
We have merged the mobile notification tags to permit you to have the same tagging plan in your entire digital workplace. Your users can globally subscribe to topics they want to follow; your contributors can choose who they want to target.
Prepare the future
For now, we propose you prepare this new feature by :
- Creating your notification plan (tags)
- Tests the feature in one of your site collection by activating the feature
- On the portal, behind the bell, your users can also manage the type of tag they wish to subscribe to and the platform on which they wish to do so (for today only inside the intranet).
- On the Powell creation/edition form, your contributors can target a specific scope that will receive the notification.
Discover what is coming
Next month the feature will be improved to allow your users to choose additional platforms where they will receive their notifications (Teams in activities, Mails)
Depending on this choice, the user will see notifications of the content to which they have subscribed.
Feature activation
From now on, the Recent activities option in Manager and front has been redesigned as Notifications, and divided into two options:
- Recent activities (identical to the current option)
- Subscriptions ( new scenario )
(New Notifications option inside front Manage owners and contributors tools section, with the Subscriptions activated)
NB: As the feature is in preview for now, it can only be enabled at the tenant level by a Powell administrator not to impact your current site (you can ask for it by creating a support ticket).
For administrators
Manager – Don't force the user to save the site collection when editing a JS file or a content type.
Previously, when administrators modified a JS file or content type for a site collection, they had to save the site collection for the change to take effect on it.
Now it's easier to administer, as the change will be applied directly to your site collections.
Manager – Add a link to Powell Buddy
Powell Buddy is now accessible in Manager, Informations / Help section
Powell Buddy is a new tool designed to help administrators get answers to their Powell Intranet administration questions. Ask him anything, and he'll do his best to find the answer in all our documentation.

Design improvements
Application tiles – Add an input and output animation
When hovering over an item inside an Application Tiles widget view for Search: Application Tiles / Application Tiles (icons) / Application Tiles 2, we've added a new animation.
Powell Forms – Some interface adjustments for forms
We've updated the Powell forms to make them clearer :
When you contribute, you'll notice some changes in the interface of certain fields:
- Field titles have been removed from fields
- Image selectors have been reduced in size
- All preview and cropping options are displayed below the fields
Widgets Views – Uniform box shadows
We uniformized box shadows & borders for many widget views displaying content as tiles.
By default, tile-oriented widgets with a wide display will have a box-shaped shadow.
List-oriented widgets will have a flat outline, a white background, and an outer & inner border.
- Event list (large display) (also renamed Event tiles (Large display))
- Network sharing list (also reduce separator size)
- Event list (added inner & outer border)
- Idea campaign (added outer border)
- Idea - Detail (deleted box shadow)
- People Tile (added box shadow)
- People's birthday (added box shadow)
- New employee tiles (added box shadow)
- Job offer tiles (added box shadow)
Navigation – Keep users informed of their location on the portal
In a flat architecture context, it can be hard for the user to know exactly where he is on the portal, in which space.
That's why, to help you better customize the navigation highlight, we've added a group of CSS classes after each navigation refreshes to identify whether the current page is part of the same site or the same web of a navigation node.
