We are thrilled to announce our January 2024 update on Powell Teams. This release represents a transformative leap in SharePoint governance and collaboration, marking a milestone in our journey towards seamless and efficient digital workspace management.
We're bringing groundbreaking enhancements that simplify governance processes, elevate user management capabilities, and introduce innovative workspace filtering. Each feature is crafted to empower administrators and users alike, ensuring a more intuitive, controlled, and efficient experience across your collaboration environment.

SharePoint site edition
Introducing the SharePoint Site edition feature, made to empower administrators and site owners with detailed insights and intuitive editing capabilities for SharePoint sites.
Site owners and Powell Teams administrator will be able to:
- Have access and edit site information as site name, description, URL or primary email address. Important links and site history will also be visible.
- Edit site governance configuration as external sharing or storage limit.
- Manage users of the site and edit the site owners, members and visitors.
SharePoint Governance Templates
We are thrilled to introduce SharePoint Governance Templates. This feature empowers Powell Teams admins to facilitate applying governance standards to existing SharePoint sites.
Admins now have the capability to apply governance templates directly to existing SharePoint sites. This ensures that governance standards are maintained even as end-users continue to manage and create content within their sites. You will be able to configure governance policies like tags, minimum number of owners & members, default owners & members and exernal access into your SharePoint template. And then apply these governance policies to your existing sites with unitary or bulk action.
Enhanced User Management for SharePoint in Powell Teams
The update of Powell Teams introduces key user management enhancements for SharePoint, Powell Teams now list all the SharePoint sites a user is owner, member or visitor of.
Actions to remove a user from a site and copy the rights of a user to another sites will be released in the next weeks.
"All Teams" Page Now "All Workspaces"
Embracing our SharePoint integration and collaborative evolution, we've updated the "All Teams" page to "All Workspaces." This succinct change signifies our move towards a more unified and versatile collaboration environment, accommodating both Teams and SharePoint sites in one streamlined view.
Leaving a Team from the User Dashboard
We introduce a new level of autonomy for team members and owners within Powell Teams. Users can now effortlessly leave any team they are part of directly from the User Dashboard.
Filter Workspaces by Tag in Back Office
Responding to popular demand, the update introduces tag-based filtering in the Powell Teams back office. This enhancement enables administrators to quickly and effectively filter workspaces by tags across all back office tables, simplifying workspace management and enhancing efficiency.
