New features for everyone

💖 Notifications - Subscribe to a notification group based on an SharePoint term

We looked for improving Notifications scenario even further by adding the creation of groups based on Sharepoint terms.

Advanced users will find improved tools for creating and managing subscription groups, including options to base groups on custom properties or SharePoint term sets.

Once a Subscription groups is created based on a Sharepoint Set, users can subscribe to all the terms included inside this subscription group.

During content creation, metadata will automatically select relevant subscription groups, simplifying the notification process.

Notifications
-  Be able to link a content type to a subscription group in front administration

As we enhanced notification administration in Powell Front, we identified key features related to Powell Manager that were missing. To address this, we added the ability to link a content type to a subscription group within the Front administration settings, so all notification scenario can be achieved easily

In the Admin settings under "Manage available tools" and "Notifications," we've introduced a new "Linked Content Type" table below the subscription groups table. This new table displays all content types with notifications enabled, allowing users to link content types to subscription groups for sending related notifications. The table includes details such as title, description, parent content type, and actions for editing and deletion.

Users can now add a content type and link it to subscription groups. Once saved, the linked content types and their related subscription groups will appear in the "Linked Content Types" table, streamlining the notification management process.

Gamification - Be able to manage translation

Gamification has been updated to now be compliant with translation of the different content types related to gamification, such as Kudos, Actions, and badges.
Trough Powell Contribution, all Titles, and descriptions related to gamification are now translatable in any language desired.

Once translated, if your Kudos / Badge / Action match user display language, it will be displayed translated :

HOW CAN I ACTIVATE THE TRANSLATION OF MY GAMIFICATION?

  • Synchronize your gamification site collections.
  • Clear the cache on your various sites that include gamification components.
  • Create / edit and translate gamification-related content through Powell Contributions.

Features currently In Preview

( New webpart ) Welcome  : Welcome your employees

We are excited to introduce a new feature in the Webpart Catalog Manager: the ability to select and configure the "Welcome" Webpart. This feature enhances user interaction and provides extensive customization options for webpart settings.

Webpart Settings: Users can now define a custom welcome message, limited to 30 characters, that supports translation and can include the user’s name by using [Name]. Additionally, there is an option to display the user’s profile picture, with a clickable redirect to the user’s profile. A custom URL field for the profile picture can be set, which defaults to redirecting to the user’s profile.

Unread Mails and Outlook Events: The webpart can display the user’s unread mail count and future events count, both of which are clickable and redirect the user to their profile.

Quote of the Day: Users can enable a quote of the day feature, which, when activated, generates a "Quotes" list in the SharePoint site collection.

Background Display Options: The welcome webpart’s background can be customized with the current theme color, a custom color, or a custom image. Users can also select the text color as either "dark" or "light."

Contribution Campaigns (Teaser/Beta) : Create and manage your own contribution campaign

We're excited to unveil an improved campaign creation process within the Campaigns feature. By clicking "Create campaign" on the Campaign Home Page, you'll now access a user-friendly panel to guide you through setting up your campaign.

Easily enter a title and description for your campaign, select an icon and background color, and set the campaign's start and end dates with intuitive date pickers. You can define your campaign audience by choosing from three options: Groups (select specific AD groups or SharePoint users), Public (open to all site contributors), or Private (visible only to you).

Stay organized with automatic campaign alerts, which send emails to authors and contributors at key points: before the campaign starts, before it ends, and 24 hours before publication. These notifications ensure everyone involved is kept informed.

Comprehensive documentation and a communication article are forthcoming
