January 2025 Powell Governance release note

We are excited to announce the latest updates and enhancements in Powell Governance for January 2025. This release focuses on improving workspace management, introducing new capabilities for SharePoint site campaigns, and streamlining bulk actions for tags and sensitivity labels. These updates aim to enhance efficiency, usability, and compliance across your environment.

The release has been done on the Wednesday, January 8th of 2025.

Workspace edition rework

We have reworked the UI of the workspace creation and edition page to improve how information is displayed and managed. This evolution provides a clearer and more user-friendly interface for workspace owners and members to view workspace details. For administrators and owners, the new design simplifies the process of editing workspace information, ensuring a smoother and more intuitive experience.

SharePoint site campaigns

Powell Governance administrators can now set up campaigns for SharePoint sites on their tenant, including custom SharePoint reports. Just like Teams campaigns, administrators can ask SharePoint site owners to take corrective actions or manage these actions directly. Actions available for SharePoint campaigns include:

  • Archive SharePoint sites
  • Delete SharePoint sites
  • Apply templates
  • Revoke guest access
  • Add owners
  • Guest review
  • Review external sharing settings
  • Fill missing tag values

This feature ensures consistent governance across Teams and SharePoint, simplifying compliance and operational management.

New bulk actions

To streamline workspace management, Powell Governance administrators can now perform the following bulk actions:

  • Apply sensitivity labels: Administrators can efficiently apply sensitivity labels to multiple workspaces at once, ensuring compliance with governance policies. This feature eliminates the need to address workspaces individually and improves governance scalability.

  • Associate tags and tag values: Administrators can now associate tags and their values to several workspaces simultaneously. This simplifies workspace categorization and enhances operational efficiency.

These bulk actions provide administrators with powerful tools to manage their tenant more effectively while saving time and effort.

We hope these new features and updates will enhance your Powell Governance experience. As always, we welcome your feedback and look forward to helping you optimize your governance practices.
