May 2025 Powell Governance Release Note

We’re excited to share the latest updates in Powell Governance, this release focuses on improving reporting flexibility and workspace view customization, while also bringing several smaller enhancements to the platform.

The release is planned for Thursday, April 29th of 2025.

This update introduces a new consent requirement that will be used in the next release :
New permission – "InformationProtectionPolicy.Read" – will be added for Powell Governance administrators.

AI-Powered custom report creation

Powell Governance now supports AI-generated custom reports, allowing administrators to generate reports using natural language. This feature simplifies the reporting process, enabling users to create tailored reports in seconds.

All elements of the report are created automatically — from the report name, to the columns, to the filter conditions and properties used. Admins can immediately access and use these reports as if they were manually configured, saving time and improving productivity.

Improvements to Custom Views on the User Dashboard

We've added greater flexibility to custom views configured on the user dashboard. Administrators can now add or remove any workspace details in the table view without affecting the card view.

The table view becomes fully customizable, allowing admins to hide or display any available columns for a cleaner, more relevant display based on end-user needs.

Reordering columns in custom views is now more intuitive and responsive, making view customization easier.

Expiration Date on the Approval Detail Panel

To provide better context during approval processes, the expiration date and sensitivity label (if available) will now appear in the approval detail panel.

The expiration date shown is dynamic and will only be applied when the team or site is created. These details will be visible in the user dashboard and back office, but not in bot cards.

Small Improvements & Enhancements

This release also includes a set of smaller but valuable improvements to improve usability and governance control:

  • Swagger update for Power Automate: We've updated the Swagger for the Powell Governance custom connector, ensuring smoother integration with Power Automate flows.

  • Alert on report deletion: A warning message is now displayed when an admin tries to delete a report that’s used in a campaign or admin access policy.

These updates continue our goal of making Powell Governance more efficient, customizable, and user-friendly. From simplifying report creation to enhancing workspace views and template flexibility, we’re committed to delivering tools that improve governance across your digital workplace.

As always, feel free to explore the updated documentation or share your feedback—we’d love to hear from you!
