Content Builder is a flexible and intuitive webpart for SharePoint that helps you create and manage static content with greater ease and control.
It allows you to build and customize pages directly from the front.
This guide will walk you through the following sections:
- Adding your first component
- Reordering components
- Adding a photo or video carousel
- Resizing components
- Control panel
When you click on the Content Builder webpart, you’ll see two main areas:
The first content section (ready for editing)
Which offers several display types that you can add to your sections. Each type has its own purpose and configuration options, allowing you to build pages that match your communication needs :
Text : add formatted text such as titles, paragraphs, or lists.
Button : create links or calls to action with customizable labels and colors.
Media : insert images from your library or external sources or embed videos.
Card : combine an image, link, title, and short description in a structured layout.
List : display several items (titles, icons, or links) in a compact format.
Carousel : rotate slides with images, videos, link, title and short descriptions.

The Control Panel
 Important: Always click Save in the Control Panel before republishing to make sure your changes are stored.

We’ll start by creating our first section.
1. Adding your first component
Begin by adding your first component to the section in this example, we’ll add a text block.
Toolbar shortcuts:
Add component to the section
Edit section : shows a summary of existing components and lets you add more
Display settings : controls how the section is shown (section title, responsive options, background, contrast, spacing)

2. Moving and reordering components
Repositioning elements is simple:
Click and drag the component using the dots next to its title.
3. Adding a photo or video carousel
Carousels can display images or videos from your SharePoint library or from online sources.
Add a Carousel component.

The component editing panel will open, click Edit to start.
Add slide content: image/video, link, title, description, click behavior, etc.
In the Settings tab, set a carousel title (optional).
In the Display tab, configure global display options for all slides: background color, contrast, borders, auto-slide, etc.
6. Go back to Content to add more slides by clicking Add content.
4. Resizing components
Cold Content allows you to place several components within the same section and arrange them exactly how you want.
For example, you might combine:
A media block
A text block
A button
You can easily:
Resize components by dragging their edges or corners.
Reposition them by clicking and dragging to a new location within the section.

5. The Control Panel
The Control Panel is your central hub for page settings.
Display Mode
Edit Mode (default) — edit and configure your content.
Preview Mode — see how the content will look when published.
Switch back to Edit Mode to make changes.
Layout Options
Choose how your sections are displayed:
Rows : sections stacked vertically
Tabs : horizontal or vertical tabs
Accordion : collapsible sections
Export / Import
You can export the configuration data of a Cold Content webpart and import it into another page or site.
This allows you to quickly replicate a layout or settings without having to recreate them manually,
