🚨 Global Information 🚨
Publishing : End of Support
Microsoft is retiring the classic Publishing model and the “Allow custom scripts” setting.
There’s no immediate impact for Powell customers — existing intranets will continue to run normally, as custom scripting is already managed on our side. If needed, scripting can still be temporarily re-enabled using Microsoft’s PowerShell script.
However, Microsoft will fully remove custom script support by March 2026, which means classic components (like Script Editor or custom layouts) will stop working.
To stay secure and supported, we recommend starting your migration to the modern SharePoint experience as soon as possible.

SharePoint Online Content Security : Policy Update
To ensure Powell Manager and your intranet function correctly with SharePoint Online's Content Security Policy (CSP), trusted script sources must be configured.
This is critical to prevent issues with script execution and maintain compatibility with the latest security updates. Microsoft plans to enforce script blocking for non-compliant scripts on March 1st, 2026.
Why This Matters ?
SharePoint Online's Content Security Policy enhances security by restricting script sources to trusted domains. Starting March 1st, 2026, scripts not listed in the trusted sources will be blocked, which could cause Powell Manager and your intranet to malfunction, significantly impacting user experience and productivity.
If these configurations are not completed before the enforcement date, scripts will no longer be accessible from your intranet, resulting in broken functionality.
Immediate action is recommended to avoid disruptions.
Key Actions :
Powell Software has automated the deployment of trusted script sources to minimize manual actions. Two configuration methods are available depending on your environment:
-
Option 1: Automated Configuration (Recommended)
Powell Manager can automatically configure the trusted script sources through a background job during deployment.
Prerequisites: SharePoint Administrator permissions are requiredAccess to Powell Manager administration console
Steps to Configure: Launch an SPFx Extension synchronization. The background job will automatically update the authorized scripts in your SharePoint tenant
-
Option 2: Manual Configuration
If automated configuration is not possible (e.g., insufficient SharePoint Administrator permissions), trusted script sources must be configured manually through the SharePoint Admin Center.
-
Steps to Configure Manually:
Navigate to SharePoint Admin CenterAccess the Content Security Policy settings at: https://<tenant>-admin.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/online/AdminHome.aspx#/contentSecurityPolicy
Add the following trusted script sources:
-
Required URLs:
Testing and Validation
After configuring the trusted script sources (either automatically or manually), verify that all Powell Manager features and intranet components function as expected
Recommended Validation Steps:
Test all custom web parts and dashboards
Verify navigation and search functionality
Check for script-related errors in the browser's developer console
Monitor user feedback for any functionality issues

Discussions : Improved Link Management
We now generate a preview only for the first link in the post. This reduces unnecessary vertical space usage while keeping the content clean.
New Icons : Improve Integration of Icons Across the Application
Introduce Material Design Icons across the entire application to standardize iconography, modernize the visual experience, and ensure consistency between web and mobile environments. This evolution aims to simplify maintenance by relying on a single, unified icon library.
The improvement consists of:
Replacing all outdated, inconsistent, or placeholder icons with their equivalent Material Design icons.
-
Ensuring a cohesive and modern iconography across all application components.
Those new icons are available as an option in the theme
⚠️ Reminder: Make sure to test this option with your custom headers to confirm proper display. It will become mandatory in 90 days.
( Preview ) Event hub : New “Events” Webpart
The Event-Hub template continues to evolve with the addition of a new Events webpart, offering a more visual and intuitive way to browse upcoming events.
Configuration is divided into several clear steps to adapt the component to your needs:
Source selection & mapping : Choose the event list to display, then map your list fields to the Event Hub structure. You can also define a custom URL and adjust how it’s interpreted to generate dynamic event links.
Card Settings : Configure how your event cards appear: pagination options, image templates, and a default image when none is associated with an event.
Calendar Settings : Define the calendar layout and behavior: choose between daily, weekly, or monthly views, and adjust time slots (24 hours by default).
Settings : Choose which views to display (calendar and/or cards), enable a search box for cards, and set the date range for visible events.
Import/Export : You can also import and export, making it easy to replicate configurations across different sites or environments. Exporting copies the configuration to the clipboard, which can then be pasted into the import field of another page, saving time and ensuring consistency.
When hovering over an event, users can see a preview card showing key details, with a “Read more” option to open the full event.

Advanced Analytics : Administration settings
We’ve made some updates to make it easier for you to track what’s happening on your intranet.
Set Default Values per Property
Admnistrators can now preselect default values for any property (standard or custom) directly in the Analytics settings. When you open your dashboard, these defaults are automatically applied saving you time and clicks.
Improved Properties Grouping
To make navigation smoother, Analytics properties are now organized into two clear sections:
- Standard properties → all built-in filters provided by Powell.
Custom properties → filters created by your team or specific to your tenant.
This grouping improves readability and helps you quickly find the filters you need.
Data Privacy Option
We’ve added a new Data Privacy toggle to ensure users only see the sites they have access to. When enabled (default), the site picker will only show authorized sites, when disabled, all sites are visible.
This helps protect sensitive data while keeping your reporting relevant to your own content.
Detailed KPI Definitions
Each KPI now comes with a clearer description, including : How it’s calculated and specific notes or limitations.
📱 Mobile Application 📱
This version brings several important improvements to provide a smoother, more stable, and more intuitive experience:
-
Optimizations & Performance
- General app optimizations for better performance.
- Implementation of a view caching system, allowing faster page loading.
-
Reliability & Stability
- Improved crash handling to reduce unexpected app closures.
- Better management of navigation and loading screens for a more consistent experience.
-
UI & Ergonomics
- Fixed the display of information tooltips in the navigation.
-
The "Reorganize / Reorder" button is now located at the top-left, offering quicker access.
🤖 Buddy 🤖
Audio Player for Agent Responses
Powell Buddy now includes an audio player for spoken agent responses. Users can replay messages, jump backward, and better follow complex explanations, improving clarity and accessibility.
Targeted SharePoint Folder Indexing
You can now index specific SharePoint folders instead of entire sites. This provides more relevant knowledge to agents, reduces noise, and speeds up indexation.
Optimized Indexation Costs
Indexation is now smarter: only content modified since the last indexation is processed. This reduces costs and significantly speeds up updates, especially when OCR is enabled.
🚨 Important – Indexation System Evolution 🚨
Starting in the next release, Powell Buddy will transition from Azure Search Services to a new indexing engine powered by Cosmos DB.
Azure Search Services will remain functional for existing setups, but they will no longer be usable after June 1st, 2026.Customers will be able to store their indexes either in a Powell-hosted Cosmos DB or in their own Cosmos DB.This evolution unlocks several key improvements planned for the next months:
- SharePoint page indexing, expanding the scope beyond documents
- User-permission–based access to SharePoint content for stronger security
- Conversation history, stored securely in the customer’s own Cosmos DB
- OCR capabilities available for all knowledge base types
- Lower indexing costs, thanks to Cosmos DB being significantly cheaper than Azure Search ServicesWe will fully support all customers through this transition to ensure a smooth and successful migration.
