Communication is one of Powell's Department pages. The department pages are completely configurable to be in line with a company or specific department needs.
Under Powell Intranet Communication department you will find :
The first web-part you see is a title web-part introducing the page "Welcome to the Communications Department". If you are a Contributor 👩🌾, you can see how to configure this web part on the page Title.
Under the title, you can see a search web-part displaying the news related only to the communication department. Click on the "see more button" to access the page with all the news related to the communications department. "Next Events" web-part is a search web-part as well with a different display. It displays the future events attributed only to the communications department. International News Feed on the right-side is an RSS feed web-part and it displays news from different websites. You can choose the websites you want to receive the news from. As you click on one of them, you will be redirected to the original website where the article was published. Further below you can find the Powell TV web-part which displays videos from Office 365 video. You can watch a video directly within the portal, by clicking on it. Similar to news articles, you will be allowed to watch, like, comment, and share a video.
The number of videos that appear, the design style of the video, and where the ‘see more’ icon leads are all configurable web part characteristics.
The bottom part of the page displays an Image gallery, Twitter, and Facebook web parts.
Twitter and Facebook are the external connectors of the Portal, displaying communication from these pages. If you are a Contributor 👩🌾, you can see how to configure these web parts on the pages Twitter and Facebook.
The Image Gallery is a content-search web part. The gallery is completely interactive as you can see the number of times an image is viewed, liked, and commented.
Click on an image within the media gallery. You can now view the image full screen. You will also see when it was added to the gallery and by whom. You can share the image via email or download it to your desktop. As you scroll down a little, you can also search through the media gallery to see different images or videos. The search bar for key word search makes it easy to find a specific image you are looking for.
