Before you can configure tracking filters or allow your Internal Comms team to view the dashboards, you must first enable the Advanced Analytics engine on your intranet environment.
Depending on your role and preference, you can activate this feature directly from your live intranet interface or centrally through the Powell Manager back-office.
📋 Prerequisites
Before proceeding, please ensure that:
You have the right permissions: You must be a Powell Intranet Administrator, a Site Owner, or have access to Powell Manager.
-
You have the right license: Advanced Analytics is a premium module. If you cannot find the module in your features list by following the steps below, please contact your Customer Success Manager to discuss your licensing options.
🚀 Method 1: Activation via the Intranet Interface (Quick & Local)
This is the fastest method if you are already browsing your live intranet and want to activate the feature for your current environment.
Open the Settings Menu: Click on the gear icon ⚙️ located in your Powell Intranet header.
Access the Features Dashboard: From the dropdown menu, select Features dashboard. This will open the main Features management window overlay.
Locate the Module: You can use the search bar at the top left or browse the categories to find the Advanced Analytics card.
Enable the Feature: On the bottom right of the Advanced Analytics card, toggle the Enabled switch so that it turns green.
🛠️ Method 2: Activation via Powell Manager (Centralized Admin)
If you are a Global Administrator and want to deploy the feature from the back-office, or if you want to include it directly in your Site Templates, use Powell Manager.
Log in to Powell Manager: Access your global administration portal.
-
Navigate to your Site or Template:
If you want to activate it on an existing site: Go to Environments > select your specific site collection.
If you want to add it to a template (so future sites have it automatically): Go to Design > Site Templates > select your template.
Go to the Features Section: Navigate to the Features tab within your site or template configuration menu.
Enable the Feature: Search for the Advanced Analytics feature in the list and switch the toggle to activate it.
Save and Sync: Don't forget to Save your configuration and run a Sync (Deploy) to push this update to your live SharePoint environment.
💡 Note: Once activated via either method, the tracking engine begins running in the background. Data collection starts from the moment of activation; it cannot retroactively pull historical qualitative data (like Pulse or Sentiment) from before the module was turned on.
⏭️ Next Steps
Congratulations, your Advanced Analytics module is now active!
To get the most out of your new data, we strongly recommend completing your setup by reviewing the following configurations:
