This July release gives administrators finer control over who can see their reports, and lets you automate ownership assignment directly from a campaign. It also fixes SharePoint site deletion and provisioning issues, and includes a few additional admin enhancements.

Report Audiences

Administrators can now restrict the visibility of a report to specific sub-admin audiences. Until now, every sub-admin could see every report, with no way to scope access. When building or editing a report, you can select one or more audiences:
 

• If no audience is selected, the report remains visible to all sub-admins (unchanged behavior).
• If one or more audiences are selected, only the sub-admins belonging to at least one of these audiences can see the report.

Global admins always retain full visibility on every report, regardless of the audiences configured.
 

Add All Members As Owners

There was previously no way to promote all members of a workspace to owner in bulk through a campaign; this had to be done manually, one member at a time.

A new action, Add all members as owners, is now available in the campaign action list. When executed, it promotes every current member of the workspace to the owner role. Members who are already owners are left unchanged, and only members present at the time the action runs are affected — members added to the workspace after the campaign is triggered are not included.
 

SharePoint Site Deletion for M365 Group-Connected Sites

Deleting a SharePoint site connected to an M365 group (as opposed to a Team) previously reported success in Powell Governance even though the site was not actually deleted on the Microsoft 365 side. This has been fixed: deletion of these sites now completes correctly and reflects the real outcome in Microsoft 365.

Team Site Provisioning

Site provisioning was previously limited to Communication sites, even when a Team site design (not to be confused with a Group Team Site) was associated with it. Powell Governance now provisions the correct SharePoint site type based on the site design selected, including true Team sites.

Smaller updates

• Open icon in the update campaign notification: a dedicated icon has been added next to the workspace name, making it easier to jump straight to editing the workspace from the dashboard.
• Alphabetical sorting by default: workspace tables, in both the admin and end-user views, are now sorted alphabetically by workspace name (A → Z) by default, so you no longer need to apply this sort manually. 
• Export campaign past actions: an export button, similar to the one available on report tables, has been added to the past actions table in campaign analytics. The CSV export includes Workspace ID, Workspace Name, Workspace Type, Workspace URL, and Action Taken.
