Introduction

The Youtube web part is a Powell Intranet web part and can be used to embed YouTube videos right on your page. 

 

Settings

You can start configuring the web part settings as you add the web part to your intranet page.

Youtube channel ID: 

  1. Get your channel ID from your youtube URL blobid0.png

Set the Application key

Step 1:

To set the application key, you first need a youtube account (or at least a Google + account), then you can create developer application : https://console.developers.google.com/

Step 2:

Once created, you can see the main dashboard of your application (screenshot above).

You need to define which API you want to use for your application; here we just need youtube API activated; click on the left panel line APIs & auth > APIs, then click on Youtube Data API (screenshot below).

Step 3:

Generate the secret key: Click on the left panel line Credentials, then add a new API key like the screenshot below; make sure to choose Browser key.

Step 4: 

When you're done with the google application, copy your secret key to the YouTube module, and don't forget to choose a template and the number of videos you want to display; then save your configuration

 

The number of videos to display: Choose how many videos you want to display on the web part:

  • "See more" option: You can display a "see more" option icon to send users to a youtube page with the list of all videos. 
  • Number per row:  You can define the number of videos displayed per row for mobile/tablet/desktop and large screens.
