Overview
This document is designed to guide you through configuring an Azure Cosmos DB for Powell Buddy. Once created, you will have to fill your Cosmos DB information into the Control & Privacy page.
Creation & Configuration
To proceed this guide you will need to configure your Azure Cosmos DB until the step 8: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cosmos-db/quickstart-portal
We recommend to use a serverless infrastructure to host your Cosmos DB. It's cheaper adequate for Powell Buddy usage.
After that step you need to activate specific features "New Features for Full Text Search" and "Vector Search for NoSQL API". Open the Settings section and the Feature page.
Once your Cosmos DB created with the features activated, (it may take up to 15 minutes for the database to be created on the Microsoft side). You have to fill the related information into the Control & Privacy page to be able to use this storage mode for your knowledge bases.
For enhanced security, Powell recommends whitelisting Powell's IP addresses in your Cosmos DB firewall settings. To add those IPs, Open the Settings section in the Azure menu and then open the Networking page.
