New features for everyone

1. 💖 Disclaimer:
Be able to configure your disclaimer from your Sharepoint site

In the last release, we introduced new features for configuring your Disclaimer within Powell Manager.

Now, Disclaimer and its enhancements are also accessible directly in your site administration settings:

(Dislcaimer feature is enabled by administrator in the Manage available tools)

(Once enabled, Disclaimer is available for all sire owners in administration settings)

Once selected, it opens a brand-new Disclaimer settings page, allowing you to create and manage disclaimers directly on your site.

Now you can fully configure your disclaimer without having to use Powell Manager!

2. Manager: Add Powell Fields to Content Type Fields selection

To address challenges administrators faced when reusing Powell content types, such as when creating Event templates, we now enable the addition of specific Powell fields when creating or editing content types in Powell Manager ( PowDescription, PowSeeMore, PowellContent)

This improvement makes it easier to reuse Powell content

3. Maps / Banner webparts :  New edit forms

As with the last few releases, we've enhanced front-end editing for two new web parts: Maps and Banner.

Both now feature the new edit design, making customization and usage easier than ever.

4. Front administration: Add a Powell prerequisite section

A new Support section is now available within the Administration settings, featuring the "Check Powell Prerequisites" tool.

This feature allows you to assess various aspects of your site through Powell's analysis, including:

  • Verifying the SPFx package and synchronizing it
  • Checking site permissions and required access
  • Ensuring all mandatory Powell lists are present
  • Checking standard Microsoft lists
  • Reviewing the current site languages
  • Verifying time zones for users and the site
  • Accessing support to contact our help team

It's a very useful tool for checking the health of your site and providing useful information to our support team if we need it.

Preview features only

1.
New Search/Graph view - Aggregate content tiles (Bubble)

New Bubble view "Aggregate content tiles (Bubble)" is now available in preview. You can select it from the view catalog.

This new view gives you more customizations options (all these settings are also available from Powell Manager) :

We are planning to deliver this new view next release, as we are currently improving it thanks to your feedbacks !

2. Contribution campaigns: Release incoming !

A few releases ago, we introduced contribution campaigns, and we can't wait to see the impact they'll have on the daily works of your contributors.

We plan to fully integrate this into the next release, so we're fully aware of any feedback you may have.

Remember : To get full access to campaigns, it's important to synchronize your site collection lists to get the latest version.

3. Manager : Review the deployment of Microsoft banners

Microsoft has introduced an update affecting Banner behavior on their pages. From now on, the Header feature in the page manager will be deprecated, meaning manual changes may be required to optimize Banner management on your pages.

Key Changes:

  • New Pages: The Header block will no longer be displayed on newly created pages.

  • Existing Pages with a Header: If a Header is present on an existing page, it may cause issues during synchronization.

  • Existing Pages without a Header: No Header will be displayed, and you will not be able to add one.

What to Do for Pages with an Existing Header:

  1. Remove the Header.
  2. Add a Powell Banner.

Powell will display a warning message to alert users of these changes.

For more information, refer to the dedicated documentation.
