Introduction
Powell Teams offers its administrators a dashboard that serves as a home page for an admin to provide an overview of the tenant's health.
IT admins can have a much simpler, much more relevant, appealing, and readable dashboard that informs the IT guys and advise and engage them to take necessary actions.
The goal of the admin dashboard is to have a more assisted and guided experience with Microsoft Teams governance.
Administration Dashboard
Administration Dashboard can be accessed from the Powell Teams user dashboard.
Click the "Admin center" icon at the top of the user dashboard to access the administration section.
The admin dashboard guides users in using Powell Teams, gives them a vision of their governance lacks, improves the use of features of the products, and provides a health overview for all admins. It helps provide a simplified summary of the Microsoft Teams data and rules, the overview of teams and life cycle management, Its KPIs, and all the reports - that is more visible and understandable for the IT.
What you find on the Administration Dashboard:
Tenant Health Overview
The first panel provides information on the tenant's health and displays the Powell Teams guidelines with the cards. Administrators visualize all the teams created and in use on the tenant.
Guideline cards
As shown in the image above, the cards display the rules and guidelines that need to be followed by an admin to avoid having unnecessary teams or teams that are not following the right governance policies set by the organization. Admins are able to check the number of teams that need modifications - teams that lack members or owners, are inactive, etc.
The Guideline Cards/the KPIs are clickable and provide direct access to the reports page. Moving your move over the cards will display Powell Teams recommendations about the KPI:
Alerts and Tips
Moreover, the health overview provides alerts and tips related to the governance rules and helps admins take necessary actions.
For example, the card with missing owners displays a warning that too many teams are not following the governance rules. As I click the card, Powell teams advise me to set a minimum of 2 owners per team to avoid problems.
Governance score
In the second panel, Powell Teams helps administrators situate themselves according to the governance score. The score is derived from various governance data.
The maximum score for governance is 100, and this score will be calculated according to the governance setup. The goal of the governance score is to push administrators to improve their governance practices continuously.
Whether the score color displays red, yellow, or green, administrators will improve the score by setting the governance actions. The guidance for the specific actions administrators need to take will be displayed in the third panel, "Governance tips."
The Powell Teams governance score calculation is based on KPIs of the tenant health overview and the governance tips achievements. Here is a dedicated article detailing each criterion taken into account.
Governance Tips
The actions administrators should take to improve the governance score are found on the "Governance Tips" panel. Here, administrators will find a checklist of 10 steps to set up a healthy Microsoft Teams environment and get the best of Powell Teams.
Powell Teams provides suggestions for the tasks that remain to be completed.
For example, in the image above, we can see that there are only two tips completed out of ten.
An admin still needs to create a first naming convention, the first template, apply this template and lock self-service creation.
These actions are clickable, and they will directly re-direct administrators to the Powell Teams administration center, where they can set the actions to improve the score or access help center articles if needed.
Reports summary
On the "Reports" panel, administrators have a quick graphical vision of their eight Powell Teams reports with the evolution over the weeks. It provides a short usage summary and re-directs administrators to the main Powell Teams features.
Administrators can click these reports to access a more profound overview.
KPIs about the use of Powell Teams features
The last panel displays interesting KPIs about Powell Teams' features and lets administrators visualize the governance rules they have already set in their organization.
