All teams tab

Under the Tab "All Teams",  teams will be showcased as team cards in alphabetical order, with team titles, descriptions, and a list of recent documents shared within those teams.

The two icons above, offer two different displays of your teams: as a table or as team cards.

A team card

A team card gives users an overall short overview of what is happening within a team. Each team card includes a team title, a team description, the number of users of the team (owners + members) and a three-dots icon.

Some cards can be displayed with an exclamation mark icon next to the team card or in the team table column "governance status". It means that these teams are not respecting one of the governance rules of their template. The owner can check and compare the team configuration and the template one in the team edition.

The "three-dots" icon

You can access additional information and perform additional actions associated with the selected team with the three-dot icon at the upper right corner of a team card:

  • Edit team
  • Open detail
  • Add to favorites/ remove from favorites
  • Get the link to the team

Edit team allows you to manage your team information. Only Powell Teams administrators can edit all teams (and it requires advanced rights). Team owners can only edit the teams when they are owners. Team members have read-only access to their teams. As you click this button, you can review team information and make modifications if needed.

Discover our dedicated article about team edition.

Team administrators and owners can change team information, including the tag associated with the team.

Keep in mind that you can modify the tags only if you are an owner of the team
and if the team has an associated template.

We categorize teams with tags during the team creation process

Find more about tags on the page Manage Tags and refiners.

*Keep in mind that the team edition tab is also available from all teams and all reports page in the admin center and from a new tab that will be automatically created in the general channel in the team for newly created teams based on a Powell Teams template.

Find more about how to edit teams here.

Open detail lets you access the team information: the list of all team channels, the last documents shared within the team, and quick access to team shortcuts such as SharePoint, OneNote, files, and planner.

The documents displayed in the detail are the recently modified documents with:

  1. The title of the document with a direct link to open it.
  2. The modification date.

When you tag a team as "favorite," you will have quick access to it in the “My favorites” tab (next section).

The link to the team will redirect you directly to the team.

My favorites

To quickly access the teams that you use the most,  add them to the "My favorites" tab.

To do that, you need to click on the 3 dots under the “My Teams” tab and tag a team as "favorite". The team will be immediately added to the “My favorites” tab.

As a Powell Teams administrator, you can promote & highlight important company teams to your employees. Click here to see how.

As a new or existing employee, you can quickly discover important company teams to follow through the user dashboard tab “Recommended”.  Administrators can target promoted teams to specific employees with the profile feature.

The tab “Promoted Teams” will be displayed only if it has content inside. In other words, if there are some teams promoted that have been promoted to you by administrators.

My activities

You can access information on all activities regarding your teams through the icon" activities".

You can filter your data according to:

  • unread notifications
  • requests waiting for your approval
  • your requests waiting for approval
  • the latest team created

Requests waiting for your approval

Requests waiting for your approval will display the list of teams that require your approval in order to be activated. To approve or decline a team, click on the "edit" button next to each team request.  You will need to review the information about the team and click "accept" or "decline".

My requests waiting for approval

For the teams that you have requested, you have an actual status informing you whether the team was approved or declined. You can click the "eye" icon to review the approval.

Find more information about approval workflows on the page "Manage approval workflow".

The search box and the refiners

The Dashboard allows you to quickly filter and see through all your teams. Through the search box, you can directly look for different teams. To search, type the name of your team in the text box. The refiners on the left side of the page will allow you to filter through your teams. Since tags are applied to teams during creation or import (soon), the refiner will make it easier for you to find the desired team.

You can configure the refiners to reflect your company's requirements through different business processes, departments, locations, or customers.

Refiners are now exclusive. It means that only the tag values associated with the connected user's teams will be visible. Tag values displayed are corresponding to the teams of the connected user.

When a certain tag has a lot of values,  a search bar and a see more button will appear within the refiner itself. It will permit searching within the refiner as well.

Refiners are created and configured by Powell Teams Administrators. If this area of your dashboard is empty, it means Powell Teams administrators haven't created any filters yet. To configure the refiners, you need to be a Powell Teams Administrator. Then you can access the admin settings through the Manage tags page in the administration section.

When Powell Teams administrators have not set any refiners, a message will be displayed to invite them to do it.

Create a new team

Powell Teams makes the process of team creation simple. You can create a new team based on predefined templates directly from the Welcome page. In order to create a team, click the button "Create a new team," and the team creation form opens.
